A keloid is a raised scar that grows beyond the original wound. Injections into the keloid help flatten it, soften it and relieve itching or discomfort. Treatment is usually repeated over several sessions.
The area may be tender for a day or two. There is little or no downtime.
Most keloids need a course of injections a few weeks apart. The price depends on the size and number of keloids, and is confirmed at your visit.
An assessment always comes first, to confirm the treatment is safe and suitable for you. It is not given during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or over infected or inflamed skin. Tell us about any medical conditions, medication and allergies.
Keloids flatten and soften gradually over the course. Some keloids can return, so your clinician may recommend follow-up care.
