Back Wax

• Unwanted hair on the back

Warm wax is applied in the direction of hair growth and removed against it, lifting hairs out from the root. Because hair is removed from the follicle rather than cut at the surface, it takes longer to grow back, and with regular waxing many people find it grows back finer.

1. The area is cleansed and prepared.
2. Wax is applied and removed one section at a time.
3. Any stray hairs are tidied.
4. A soothing product is applied to calm the skin.

Some redness and small bumps are normal and usually settle within a few hours to a day.

Results usually last three to six weeks. Booking regularly keeps your hair growth in step, which makes each wax quicker and more comfortable.

• For 24 to 48 hours, avoid hot baths, saunas, steam rooms, sun, sunbeds and swimming pools.
• Avoid fragranced products, deodorant and make-up on freshly waxed skin, and do not touch or scratch the area.
• From two days after, exfoliate gently a few times a week and moisturise daily to help prevent ingrown hairs.

For the best result, hair should be about 0.5 cm long, roughly two to three weeks of growth after shaving.

Tell us before your appointment if you use retinoid creams or have taken isotretinoin (Roaccutane) in the last six months, as waxing can lift or tear the skin. Waxing is not done over sunburn, cuts, rashes, active spots, moles, warts or varicose veins.
